Programs of Purpose
Educational Technology Program
Technology access in schools is severely limited in most developing nations. However, even in these regions, computer skills are a high priority for future job accquisiton and success. The poorest of the poor children stand a better chance when they learn using Technology, just as U.S. school children. One Book One Life is committed to raising funds for the purchase of computers, tablets, printers, network logistics, educational software, and other technology for schools serving underprivileged children in developing nations.
Student Sponsorship
At Achiever Academy in Mahabalipuram, India, 51% of the seats are reserved for underprivileged children, thus providing free, quality education to the poorest of the poor children in the nearby fishing villages devastated by the 2004 tsunami. Currently numbering around 30, these children each need scholarships which pay for tuition, books, school supplies, and school uniforms. Student Sponsorship is $25 per month. Book for Schools Program
One Book One Life provides low-reading level English-language books to schools serving underprivileged children in developing nations. These new or used materials are obtained through donation and sent to schools to establish English-language libraries for instructional purposes. Donations to off-set shipping expenses are always appreciated.
