When we talked about blogging our month in India, Susan and I had the idea that we would provide some stories and comments of interest to our family and close friends of the everyday events of our stay. While that is still true we have come to believe that the blog is providing opportunities and blessings beyond our wildest imagination. We were touched that 72 people asked to be included on the E-Mail list to follow our activities.
Before we even left home God placed people and experiences in our path that spoke to us in a profound way. We began to see God’s hand at work in us and in the people we met along the journey to and through India and decided this is what we needed to share with you.
We had been here only a few days when Susan discovered that one of the features on the blog site ...
And then we had the opportunity to share the need of a young widow here in Mahab. You responded to our request for prayer by passing it along to your friends and family beyond our reach. God took that request and through you multiplied it many times over. We asked 72 people to pray. So, how could we be anything but overwhelmed to discover that 194 different people had heard the request and not only prayed, but taken the time to check out the blog. We have no way of knowing how many responded to the call to prayer but did not access the blog. This was way beyond anything we could have dreamed.
You might have a hard time understanding how significant this is because you were not able to see the look of amazement on the face of the teachers, when we told them that 194 people, a half a world away were praying for their friend in her time of need. Sadly you were not able to hear these teachers share with us how isolated they feel without the support of the Christian community you provided by taking the time to check the blog and offer a short prayer. You did not hear the joy they expressed when we explained to them how we could stay connected when we returned home.
We feel strongly that God is indeed at work in this blog. We do not have answers to what the outcome will be but we thank you for your response to his call on you and the part you will play in His plan. We are humbled and awed by your support for us and for the people here in Mahab that most of you may never get the opportunity to meet, but is that not what Christ has requested of us as the body of Christ?
Because of your unexpected response we wanted to make sure everyone had an opportunity for input to the process. We have several ideas for future blog postings but we wondered if any of you had questions needing answers. What would you like to hear more about? What would you like to hear next?
I am a novice at this blogging process and thought that some readers might be as well. If you do have questions we encourage you to post them as a comment on the blog. Some of you already know that you can add a public comment or read the comments others have made by clicking on the comments link associated with each posting. We promise that in the very near future we will respond to all comments and questions asked. You can also contact us privately by going to the top of this web page and click on the “contact us” link. When we receive a question we will respond publicly most often but we will honor your privacy and respond privately when appropriate.
We apologize for not providing updates the last few days but we were blessed with an opportunity to see a different part of India and decided to take advantage of this gift. During our time away we did not have internet access. You will be hearing about our trip in future blogs. We are glad to be back and look forward to sharing more of what God is doing in India.
The impact of this blog is beyond the understanding of the teachers here at Achiever.
It is beyond the imagination of two travelers wanting to share the stories.
It clarifies, however, that nothing is beyond Christ’s ability to use anyone willing to submit to Him.
