Achiever Academy Prayer of Dedication - July 31, 2015 (Jim Garvin)
Dear God in Heaven,
We are gathered here to dedicate Achiver Academy to you for the 2015 academic year.
We ask you to give vision and wisdom to the administrators of Achiever Academy.
We ask for the same vision, wisdom, and compassion for the teachers who serve the children each day.
We ask your blessing on each and every student who comes to Achiver Academy, and
we also ask you to bless the parents who have given their children into our care.
Dear God, please send your Son Jesus to be among us today and each day of this school year.
Father, please bless us with your greatest blessing as we serve you, as we serve these children who will one day serve the people of Mahabalipuram and all of India.
God we ask all these things in the name of Jesus
Achiever Academy Chapel Dedication Remarks - July 31, 2015 (Susan Garvin)
Jim, Sir and I are honored to be here as we dedicate the Achiever Academy 2015–16 school year to God, our Heavenly Father.
The year 2015 marks our 7th year to serve at Achiever Academy and through the years, we have been excited to see the growth of the school, and your students, and the quality of teaching faculty.
We have also learned much about your country but this past week, we've experienced India in a new and meaningful way, with the sudden death of President Abdul Kallam.
As the week unfolded, we began to hear stories about this remarkable man and what we heard prompted more questions and we began to dig deeper, to seek more understanding.
We learned that he was born in Tamil Nadu, to a poor family. He attended government schools and delivered newspapers after school to help support his family. But he had a dream and by the sheer force of education, rose to greatness, as a scholar, as a scientist, as the 11th President of India, and as a humble, beloved leader with a vision.
We learned about President Kallam's India 2020 vision plan.
- Strategic Industries
- Healthcare & Education
I had known only slightly of Abdul Kallam before this week but now I am inspired! As I read his famous message to children, my heart was stirred...
“My message, especially to young people, is to have
- courage to think differently
- courage to invent
- to travel the unexplored path
- courage to discover the impossible and to
- conquer the problems and
(Abdul Kallam 2003)
Here at Achiever Academy, we are inspired by Abdul Kallam for we share his vision for education too.
Achiever Academy is a child-centered school, where all children are loved and encouraged and challenged every day.
Here at Achiever Academy, your children are served by teachers with a higher calling.
Today these wonderful teachers are training your children to be problem-solvers and great thinkers and inventors.
They wrestle with tough questions and use all their talents and skills to learn to think differently.
Here, children are encouraged to think creatively and to travel that path less traveled.
Here at Achiever Academy, the impossible become possible through critical thinking and determination and hard work.
The words, “we can't...” do not exist here within these walls.
Because we believe we Can! And we believe we Will!
Together, we believe we are educating the next Abdul Kallam, right here at Achiever Academy.
In this sad week of great loss for the nation of India, we pay respect and honor to this great man, who rose from humble beginnings to greatness – by the sheer force of education.
And by the sheer force of high quality education at Achiever Academy, your children are becoming the leaders for a great tomorrow.
Look at your children! Here sits tomorrow's scientists, and artists, and doctors, and engineers, and inventors. And the next generation of great teachers.
Tomorrow's visionary leaders for a better India sit here before us today.
I believe Abdul Kallam must smiling upon our children of Achiever Academy this morning, for we honor his memory best by honoring his vision for all the children of India.
